Meet Kristie Finnan of Diva Dietitian, Kids Love Food, and Doylestown Nutrition.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I grew up in Bucks County, PA, and now I live in Doylestown with my husband, three kids and silly English Setter. I’m a Registered Dietitian/Licensed Nutritionist and Author with a passion for organic & homemade foods, fitness, Nutrition Education, re-styling unhealthy recipes and baking.
I share a birthday with one of my all time favorite chefs, Julia Child. “Moderation. Small Helpings. Sample a little bit of everything. These are the secrets of happiness and good health.” -Julie Child-
In November 2011, I left a successful career in the Pharma/Biotech industry to work from home. I’m a Nutrition Consultant, Freelance Writer and love my job as Creative Director and Editor for Diva Dietitian. I also do social media/marketing work as well. This Summer/Fall 2012 I’m launching KidsLoveFood.com — a site focused on Healthy Eating and exercise for Kids. My plans also include workshops and assemblies for kids and a children’s book about healthy eating.
I’m also launching DoylestownNutrition.com, a network for other Registered Dietitians in the Bucks County area.
I just wanted to have a career doing something I was passionate about and to be able to control my own schedule. Traveling with three kids was just not working out anymore. I can now work my schedule around the most important thing- my kids and family.
I’m also a Girl Scout Leader, Soccer Coach and Homeroom Mom. Yes, there is a big bag of soccer balls in the back of my mini “ride.”
What is your blog about?
Diva Dietitian dishes out the Skinny on Nutrition (fashion, cocktails and cupcakes included.) It’s where I post my recipes and write about things I just love. I admit, I’m a food snob (thus the Diva) I’m super picky about what I eat and buy for my family.
KLF Nutrition is my Nutrition Consulting Business.
Is there a story behind your blog name?
My company’s name is actually Mommy Workshop, LLC. It’s a company I launched in 2008 when I published my children’s book, Mommy’s High Heel Shoes. I picked the name because “Mommy Works.” And my business was my Workshop! Since then, Mommy Workshop has launched in to a lot more than writing and publishing.
I now run several websites (including Diva Dietitian) and do social media/ marketing consulting. Because I am following my passion for Food and Nutrition, Mommy Workshop also does business as KLF Nutrition.
KLF Nutrition started out as just my initials. But when I brainstormed about what else KLF could stand for, I came up with Kids Love Food! Voila! Working and educating kids about healthy eating is my favorite thing to do so I snatched up domain name KidsLoveFood.com. I couldn’t believe it was available!

You sound like a fascinating person! Congratulations on your book! Very exciting. Hope you and your heels have a fabulous day today in Doylestown : )
Kristie is an amazing and fascinating person. She is so warm and caring. Last summer she introduced me to my new favorite lunch spot in Doylestown. I am so glad that I know her!
I love Kristie and have enjoyed chatting with her over lunch a couple times. I also have to say that my daughters LOVE her book. Especially my 6-year-old. She asks me to read it almost every day!
Sounds like my kind of lady. LOVE Julia Childs as well. (I so would’ve done her recipes and blogged about it if it hadn’t already been done
