Meet Denise Mooney of My Mid-Life Motherhood.

We asked Denise some questions, and here is what she has to say!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My husband and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary and are enjoying the various stages of life with our kids immensely. I am a busy mom of two teenagers (14 & 16) and a toddler (3) and I enjoy writing about all of that at My Mid-Life Motherhood.
I grew up in the Philadelphia area, graduated from Grove City College in western PA and then received my MAR at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary near Boston, MA. I met and married my husband, Phil, while we were both attending GCTS. We moved 8 times in the first 8 years of marriage and have somehow only lived in Commonwealths: MA, VA & PA.
Over the past 25 years I have been involved in some sort of ministry, mostly youth ministries. I enjoyed my years as Senior High Youth Director at our church and am especially interested in speaking with young girls about purity in dating and marriage relationships. Currently, I teach our women’s Bible study, senior high girl’s Bible study and work with our College and Career group along with my husband.
This past year I have added another hat to wear as I took on MOPS Coordinator at our church. This has been a special time for me to enjoy ministering to young moms in our church and community while creating special memories with my littlest one.
In addition to the above, I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my teens. It is a joy to watch them grow into wonderful young adults. I am so proud to be a basketball mom, drama mom and whatever other titles they award me as they add to their activities each year.
Each day I’m thankful that I have the energy to keep up with our family. Over the years I have suffered from many different health issues that have taught me to rely on God daily. I find that these hurdles have opened doors to help others who may be suffering from chronic pain and give them hope to overcome!
What is your blog about?
My Mid-Life Motherhood is about my life with two teens and a toddler. I enjoy discussing various topics from bottles to basketball, reviewing products, sharing parenting tips and writing about the crazy antics that arise as I try to balance my life as a stay at home mom who is never at home!
Is there a story behind your blog name?
As I anticipated the arrival of my third child at 40 after an 11 year gap, I realized that there might be some other moms out there starting over just like me. I have enjoyed meeting other moms who are dealing with similar situations, as they too try to balance life with a baby while continuing to be an active mom to older kids. It has been such a blessing in my life to share my story, but also be encouraged by other moms along the way!
Who or what inspires you?
Generally, mom bloggers who seem to be able to accomplish everything: a clean house, healthy eating and multiple blog posts!
Specifically, God’s word. That is my inspiration and the light in my life which helps me put into perspective the world in which I live.
What is your favorite social network and why?
Facebook is probably one of my favorite social networks. I have really enjoyed connecting with old friends, classmates and other bloggers. It’s really the new way to communicate over the proverbial backyard fence with other moms in my global community.
What is your biggest claim to fame?
I am working on publishing a curriculum, “The Bible Tells Me So.”
When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Originally, a hairdresser and waitress! Eventually, I decided that I wanted to be a youth leader and mom. I have been truly blessed to be both!
What subject would you like to blog about but won’t?
Theology. I would love to develop some Bible studies, but this phase of my life does not allow the time I would need for research and study.
What would be your dream brand to work with?
Toys R Us.
What is your favorite blog or blogger that is not your own, and why?
What is your favorite indulgence?
Chocolate and coffee!
Be sure to follow Denise on Facebook and Twitter, and visit her at My Mid-Life Motherhood.

Thanks for sharing : ) I love your indulgences. Congratulations on the Bible curriculum.
Thanks! I forgot to mention that I like Simply Sandwich because she deals with life with younger kids and older parents…a similar spot for our family with my in-laws.
