Meet Debi of Who Says 8 Is Enough?.

We asked Debi some questions, and here is what she has to say!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born and raised in southern NJ and nearly 3 years ago my husband and I moved our family to the mountains in central PA and we are loving the slow-paced change in our lives.
I’ve been a stay-at-home mom to our nine children for the last 18 years, occasionally working part-time as an aide in a special needs school and even homeschooling our children for 5 years.
This year, for the first time in 18 years, all of my children are in school which means it’s the first time in a LONG, LONG time that I am focusing on me and have time to myself. {gasp}
I’ve joined a gym, am volunteering in my youngest son Will’s special needs school, and have finally started writing my book.
What is your blog about?
I am a stay-at-home-mom to nine children ranging from 6 teenagers to twins that are in kindergarten.
I write about our “normal” life, autism, and surviving infidelity and remaining happy, sane and honest through it all.
Life is hectic & crazy, but life is good!
Is there a story behind your blog name?
We have 9 kids, so clearly 8 wasn’t enough.
Who or what inspires you?
My youngest son William inspires me and makes me a better person. He was diagnosed with autism at 2 1/2 years old and every single day is such an amazing blessing. When he was diagnosed, I was terrified of what it would mean for our relationship. And while I don’t want to pretend every day is easy, it is nothing like I ever expected. Each day is not about what I can teach him, but so much more about what he can show me about life and God’s grace.
What is your favorite social network and why?
Instagram. I LOVE taking pictures and love the instant gratification I get after posting a picture. It’s given me a way to really connect personally and more intimately with my readers and friends. Almost like a mini blog post every time I post a photo.
What is your biggest claim to fame?
Honestly, the only thing I can think of is that I went public when I found out my husband had an affair and I wrote a blog post that went viral when I addressed the other woman. It wasn’t pretty, but it was honest and I think that appealed to a lot of women who have been in my position but were too afraid to say the words out loud.
I have continued to write about surviving infidelity since that first post and continue to receive emails daily from women thanking me.
When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A mom to a lot of kids.
What subject would you like to blog about but won’t?
Some of the details of my husband’s affair. Part of me would love to dish the dirt, but I will never ever do it.
What would be your dream brand to work with?
Honestly, anything to do with Autism Awareness.
What is your favorite blog or blogger that is not your own?
Cat at Juggling Act of Life and Sunday at Adventures in Extreme Parenthood.
What is your favorite indulgence?
Hands down…chocolate. Deep, dark chocolate.
