Meet Lauryn Blakesley of The Vintage Mom.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I live just into Berks County (after growing up in Bucks County, so I am learning my way around this area still). I am a mom of 3 fantastic, couldn’t be more wonderful children ages 5,4, and 1 year. My family and I are in love with the outdoors, we love to hike and travel and just be outside. For the 10 seconds a day that are not totally consumed, I love to knit, run, and drink tea.
What is your blog about?
The Vintage Mom is about my unique approach to life. It covers homemade items, our favorite delicious recipes, and how I get organized. It is a place where I can write and act like me. Every idea and opinion on the site is the essence of me. I LOVE writing about our life and the activities and things we do as a family.
Is there a story behind your blog name?
I chose The Vintage Mom because my parenting is vintage in a way. I am in love with all things vintage. I love to knit, sew, and in love with old love stories.
Who or what inspires you?
My daughter inspires me. My husband and I always joke around that she has my creative and non-stop personality with his completely optimistic personality. She is the most creative, sweetest, most thoughtful person.
What is your favorite social network and why?
Twitter. I love the pace and being creative with 140 characters.
What is your biggest claim to fame?
Nope, nothing…blogging is SUPER new to me. I am a scientist turned nurse that loves to write, craft, and hang out with my family, so sorry, nothing….yet (unless you are interested in some science journal publications that my research was published in).
When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a pediatrician.
What subject would you like to blog about but won’t?
Anything I want to blog about, I do. There are a few topics that I wouldn’t blog about, but I won’t necessarily say that I want to blog about them.
What would be your dream brand to work with?
Ball Canning Supplies.
What is your favorite blog or blogger that is not your own?
What is your favorite indulgence?
FAGE yogurt. It is an indulgence that I eat every night. I.LOVE.FAGE!
