Meet Paola Deininger of Blissfully Chaotic Life.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born in Asuncion, Paraguay and moved to the US with my family when I was 3. A few years later I met my best friend and would eventually end up marrying him. He’s my high school sweetheart and we’ve been married for 10 years now (yikes!). We’ve been blessed with 2 of the greatest kids any parent could ask for. Our daughter is 4 and our son is 9 months. I work full time outside the home. It’s not easy having to leave my children each day in the care of others but what I do is for them, to give them a better life than I had. My life revolves around my family but I sometimes struggle to find balance between my work life and home life.
What is your blog about?
It’s a family blog about family life, entertainment, fashion, food and so much more. If it’s family related, I’ll talk about it. My blog is a place where I can feel free to discuss the topics that interest me and express my views.
Is there a story behind your blog name?
My crazy busy life and how much I love it!
Who or what inspires you?
My biggest inspiration are my children. Their creativity and endless imagination motivates me and brings out the creativity in me. But when I’m in need of some serious inspiration I’ve come to find that I look to the amazing women in PSMM. There’s no lack of talent and plenty to be inspired by!
What is your favorite social network and why?
Facebook because it’s easy to use.
What is your biggest claim to fame?
I wish there was something to dish but you never know what the future has in store!
When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always dreamed of being a journalist. I used to pretend I was writing for a big time newspaper like the New York Times or Wall Street Journal. I’d go around interviewing friends and family members and would circulate a weekly newspaper about what was going on in my neighborhood. In elementary school I was even the “editor” of our school newspaper and went on to write for the school paper in middle school and high school. I thought my dream ended there until I found out about blogging. Since I started blogging in 2008, I feel like my dream of really getting into journalism might actually come true. I may not be working for some big time newspaper, but I’m working on getting myself published in some local magazines which is a great start in my book!
What subject would you like to blog about but won’t?
That’s an easy one but hard to answer. It’s considered taboo in my religion to be discussing sex in public. I hardly even discuss it with my closest girlfriends let alone on my blog. I wish I had the guts to write about some things that are not so intimate but the whole idea of discussing my private life with complete strangers scares the daylights out of me.
What would be your dream brand to work with?
I think my list would span a mile wide but I guess if I had to choose one brand that I dream of working with would be Disney. When I was little I always believed that every American family took their kids to Disney World for their family vacations. After every Super Bowl when the players are asked, “what are you going to do next?” their response is always “I’m going to Disney World!” So of course when I’m asked where I want to go on vacation, my answer is always the same – Disney World! Disney has had a huge impact on my life, from the fairy tale stories of Snow White and Beauty & the Beast to The Sword & The Stone – every story has some meaning in my life. Whenever my kids give me a life question I struggle to answer, I always turn to a Disney story to help better explain. Disney has also had a huge impact on my children’s lives. It would be a dream come true to work with Disney in any way!
What is your favorite blog or blogger that is not your own, and why?
Beautiful Spit Up – Eve is a good friend even though we’ve never met.
What is your favorite indulgence?
Chocolate! Without hesitation this is my guilty pleasure. I’ll take chocolate in any form I can get it!
