Meet Carrie Curry of Chockababy.
We asked Carrie some questions, and here is what she has to say!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Most days I feel like a crazy person. I have 3 kids. I blog, am in the process of selling a cake business, and work as a math teacher one day a week. My favorite thing to do is the one that makes the least amount of money – blogging! I often think I am doing too much.
I live in Southern Delaware – and love company if anyone wants to visit the beach! I also live within walking distance to Dogfish Head Brewery, so living so far from culture (ie. Philly) does have some perks.
My daughter has food allergies, which has become a main focus of my blog. I also want to be a better parent, wife, and friend – which I’m working through in my posts.
I hope to make it to as many events as I can, regardless of my distance. Mostly, I am so excited to learn and grow from this amazing group of bloggers. I am inspired every day by your posts!
What is your blog about?
Babies, parenting, food allergies, and kid activities.
Is there a story behind your blog name?
I started blogging with my sister a few years ago and she chose the name. We wanted something different that was short and sweet. I added the tag line “Chock full of everything baby, pregnancy, and parenting” to help clarify it a bit. I don’t write as much about pregnancy anymore so I feel the need adapt it soon.
Who or what inspires you?
My kids, my husband, and other moms who are successfully raising healthy kids while juggling their own dreams.
What is your favorite social network and why?
Facebook. I’m most comfortable with it.
What is your biggest claim to fame?
Winning a Best of Delaware award for my Cake business in 2010.
When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Rainbow Brite or Strawberry Shortcake. Then a mom.
What subject would you like to blog about but won’t?
Personal finance. I love budgeting and think young people need to learn it sooner.
What would be your dream brand to work with?
Melissa and Doug.
What is your favorite blog or blogger that is not your own, and why?
I am always entertained by Stephanie Anderson.
What is your favorite indulgence?
Caramel brownies. I’ll make them for an event someday.
