Huge thanks to The Walden School in Media, PA for hosting us.

The Walden School, a preschool through eighth grade independent school, promotes a high standard of academics in a peaceful and caring learning environment. Walden nurtures the whole child, ignites intellectual curiosity, and fosters independence in a culture of deep and abiding respect.

Each session began with an introduction by a panel of experts followed by hands-on small group roundtable discussions.

The SEO panel included PSMM members, Erica VollSarah Peppel and Nichole Ann.  Colleen PadillaTina Seitzinger and Mindi Cherry represented the Monetization panel.

Feedback on the event was fantastic. The small group discussions enabled everyone to participate, and PSMM members were able to get to know each other as we mingled and munched over a delicious lunch.

Our next event is already in the works for late summer or early fall. Stay tuned for more details!!

LinkedIn and Legal Workshop

LinkedIn and Legal Workshop

Last night a small group of PSMM members gathered at the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr for a 2-part workshop sponsored by the March of Dimes, Pennsylvania.

Susan Tabor-Kleiman presented Strategies for Using LinkedIn to Enhance Your Brand. We learned all about the components that make a complete LinkedIn profile and how to interact on the platform.

After a tour of the historic Baldwin School, Kate Goldstein Legge brought us What Bloggers Can’t Afford to Ignore About Intellectual Property Law. We left with heads full of information and long to-do lists!

The Baldwin School graciously hosted our event.

We enjoyed a student-led tour of the facilities and enjoyed hearing about the traditions that are so special to the students, and it was an honor to hear from from Sally Powell, Head of School.

We appreciate March of Dimes and Baldwin School for making this event possible!

Google+ Workshop

Google+ Workshop

Last weekend PSMM members gathered at the Philadelphia Cradles to Crayons headquarters in West Conshohocken for a workshop on Google+ for Bloggers.

We appreciate Cradles to Crayons allowing us to use their space, and after the workshop we enjoyed a tour of the facility and learned about this incredible operation that provides children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations in our area with the essential items they need to thrive.

Lynette Young of Purple Stripe Productions brought us a presentation on Google+ and let us in on her tips and tricks for growing our communities and gaining the maximum exposure for our content.

The event was sponsored by Doc Bresler’s Cavity Busters, and we heard about their Children’s Dental Education and Community Outreach Program — a free, self-funded program that takes dental education into schools and daycares and children’s camp all throughout our area. We want to thank them for helping to make our workshop possible!

Media Kit Creation Workshop

Media Kit Creation Workshop

This month we welcomed special guest, Stephanie Schawb of Crackerjack Marketing and the Digital Family Summit, to lead our group in a workshop on Media Kits for Bloggers.

We discussed the components of a good media kit, Stephanie shared good and not-so-good examples of media kits around the web, and then we set to work creating our own.

A great thing about the PSMM Workshops is the collaboration and camaraderie between fellow bloggers. We do most of our work alone, shielded behind our computer screens, so it’s always nice to get together with other women who “get it”.

This workshop was sponsored in part by Good2Go Auto Insurance.

Our next PSMM Workshop will be held on June 16th, and the topic is Photography. Sign up for our PSMM Events Newsletter to be notified when tickets go on sale. PSMM Workshops are open to all women interested in blogging and social media education. PSMM membership is not a requirement.

Pitching and Proposals Workshop

Pitching and Proposals Workshop

At our workshop this month, PSMM members Julie Meyers Pron and Kelly Whalen spoke about creating effective pitches and proposals for campaigns, conference sponsorships, speaking engagements, ad revenue, and consulting jobs.

Every seat in the house was full as Julie and Kelly guided participants through the ins and outs of creating their own pitches and proposals.

Our sponsor was Nolan Painting — a residential painting contractor serving Pennsylvania’s Montgomery, Chester, Philadelphia and Delaware Counties. Nolan Painting is known for their excellent service and quality of work, and they are active in community and charitable events. They promise the utmost in professional painting services, and they are committed to working until they get it right.
